Peter Jackson has been nominated for a Best Director Cosmo for each of the three installments of his Lord of the Rings trilogy, just as he was at the Oscars, BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and Directors Guild of America. For each, he lost for Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers, but won for his crowning achievement, The Return of the King (except for the BAFTA). The final film earned a record 26 Cosmo nominations, breaking the previous record of 21 set by The Two Towers, and finally earned him the Best Director Cosmo.
