Laura Linney received considerable buzz this year for her Macbethian performance in Mystic River, while her co-star Emma Thompson received the accolades (and BAFTA nomination) for Love Actually despite Linney's own dramatic turn. So it probably came as a surprise to many that Linney actually received her Supporting Actress Cosmo nomination for Love Actually.
Her coitus interruptus scene with the breath-taking Rodrigo Santoro was undoubtedly one of several reasons why Love Actually was nominated for Sexiest Ensemble.
(Incidentally, she shares her birthday with the President of the Cosmique Movie Awards.)
