Resources:

At the first Cosmo Awards, Hilary Swank was nominated for - and won - a special Lifetime Achievement Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Queer role for her performance in Boys Don't Cry. The role gave her a surprising first Academy Award, where she faced off against Annette Bening. At the 2004 Cosmos, they faced off again. While Swank won a second Oscar for Million Dollar Baby, she lost the Cosmo to Annette Bening for Being Julia.
