Tenth Cosmique Movie Awards

Honoring the Best (and Worst) Films of 2013

At long last, we can finally announce the winners of the 2013 Cosmique Movie Awards.

If you would like to see them announced in ceremony format, please see our video presentation of the 2013 Cosmique Movie Awards on our blog. Or you can immediately read the results by category or by film.

Gravity and 12 Years a Slave were both vying for top honors, and in the end tied for the most wins, with five each. And just like at the Oscars, Gravity took home a Best Director trophy for Alfonso Cuaron while Slave was awarded Best Film of 2013.

The Lion in Winter, after many years of being nominated, was finally inducted into the Cosmique Movie Awards Best Films of All Time Lifetime Achievement Hall of Fame, along with Joan Crawford and first-time nominee Morgan Freeman in the acting categories, and first-time nominees Bette Midler and Bill Murray in the Comedic Acting categories.

The awards were shared across 23 different films this year. In addition to Gravity and Slave's five awards, Star Trek Into Darkness took home four, and Dallas Buyers Club, Frozen, The Great Gatsby, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and The Wolf of Wall Street took home two each.
