* Note: the Best Director nominees are
chosen algorithmically using a formula that considers the number of
nominations and wins a director has achieved through the Golden Globes,
BAFTAs, Directors Guild of America, and Oscars. The formula also factors
in the number of Cosmo nominations for each film (with extra weight for
a Best Picture nomination). The final winner of "Best Director" is
determined by popular vote, as with all other Cosmo awards.
